Terms of use
The German version is legally binding.
1. Scope
These terms apply to every part of this website where users publish content: the dashboard library (dashboards with description and tags), the community (posts, replies and votes) and compatibility reports about plugins. The provider is Hannes Richter (see legal notice).
2. Account
Reading and downloading is free and needs no account. To publish you need an account (email sign-in link). Your display name appears with your content; your email address doesn’t.
3. Your content
- Only publish content you created yourself or have the right to publish.
- By uploading a dashboard you release it under CC0 1.0 – anyone may use, change and share it.
- We may show posts, replies and reports on this website, quote them in help articles, the changelog and the roadmap, and use them to improve the product.
- Not allowed: illegal content, insults, hate, harassment, sexual content, advertising unrelated to music production, spam, links to malware or phishing, pirated software and cracks, and other people’s personal data.
- Plugin and DAW names are used only to describe compatibility and are trademarks of their owners. KnobShift is not affiliated with their makers.
4. How we moderate
Content appears right away. After that we check it like this:
- Technical check: every dashboard file is checked automatically and rewritten on upload; only the cleaned version is published.
- Automatic check with AI: new public texts (titles, descriptions, posts, replies, reports) are checked regularly, usually daily, with an AI model from Anthropic. It decides between “fine”, “review” (stays visible, a person looks at it) and “block” (hidden right away and reviewed by a person). If the model can’t check, a person decides.
- Reports: you can report any content. Once three different people report it, it is hidden automatically until a person has reviewed it.
- Human review: administrators review reported content and content flagged by the AI. They can restore, hide or delete content and suspend accounts.
- Suspension: for serious or repeated violations we suspend an account. Its dashboards are hidden, and it can no longer publish anything.
5. Reasons and appeals
If content of yours is hidden or deleted or your account is suspended, you get an email at your account address. It names the content, what happened, the reason (category of the violation, or reports) and whether the decision was automatic or made by a person. If you disagree, reply to that email or write to hello@knobshift.com. A person reviews your appeal, and we tell you the result. Your right to seek redress in court is not affected.
6. Point of contact
Single point of contact for users and for authorities of EU member states, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services (Art. 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, Digital Services Act): hello@knobshift.com. Languages: German and English. You can also report illegal content with “Report” on the content itself.
7. Warranty
Dashboards, posts and reports come from users and are provided as is, without warranty. There is no right to constant availability of the website or the community.
